After age and sex, we have to give our level of education and state the current employment. Why ask about employment? The answer is one of the statistical links between the type of work we do and our attitude to driving. For example, doctors, teachers, engineers and scientists drive more safely than average, i.e. they are involved in fewer accidents and make less expensive claims. The other end of the spectrum is occupied by people in the entertainment industry, stock brokers and higher level bankers, and so on. It’s the difference between the quiet analytical people and the more brash and aggressive people who want to show off. In the middle are the thousands of manual and administrative jobs. Some will involve higher risks because they depend on driving more miles as a sales representative or delivery driver, or the driving is done at more dangerous times of the day or night.

Many insurers divide the different types of employment into groups representing different levels of risk. This does not always appear to match the accident statistics. For example, some drivers will have quite high numbers of minor accidents but, because of time pressures and the availability of enough cash, they will pay for repairs out of their own pockets. Remember auto insurance companies are in business to make profits and so they focus on the number and value of claims. So if you happen to have a low income and a job with more risk, you will always pay a higher premium than, say, a doctor who may have more accidents but pay for his or her own repairs.

So, when you are changing your employment and this will mean commuting at off-peak hours or it’s a desk job, not one requiring you to go out of the office, always tell the insurer immediately. The free auto insurance quotes should confirm the premium rates have fallen. Indeed, using the online sites to get free auto insurance quotes gives you the chance to find out which are the low risk jobs.

Free auto insurance quotes when you change your jobs
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06244880228466149678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494280497064210129.post-8095655645644304772012-10-24T02:51:00.003-07:002012-10-24T02:51:52.128-07:00Checking the different types of discount on auto insurance
Getting affordable auto insurance these days can be
difficult especially with everyone trying to save as much as you would
like to save. There are a few ways for you to get a good discount on
your auto insurance premium and this includes buying multiple policies
from one company. If you are a loyal customer i.e. you already have your
homeowners’ insurance and life insurance in place with one company, you
might as well get your car insurance from them too because this would
entail getting more discounts from your insurers. Bundling these
insurance policies will also lead to more savings on your end.

Joining certain clubs or organizations that actively work out or have already auto insurance discounts
in place coming from certain insurance companies is also one good way
to save money on your premium. It is of course important for you to note
that not all insurance companies honor such discounts that is why you
should ask your club or organization which ones do.

Defensive
Driver Discount is another type of discount that you can take advantage
of. You can get this by enrolling in defensive driving courses. Your
car insurance rate will definitely be lower if you have a Defensive
Driving certificate. Experts say that the discounts one can get from
defensive driving is quite hefty so might as well go through with the
class. It is a win-win situation anyway because defensive driving
techniques can save your life.

If your teen qualifies
for a good student discount there will definitely be money to be saved
for any parents that are looking for discounts on their teen’s auto
insurance premium. This discount is only available for students who go
to school full time though so you better take note of this little detail
before applying for one because you can be sure that your insurance
company of choice will ask you for certain requirements.

Driving
a car that is equipped with safety features is also one of the best
ways to get a discount from insurers. Experts advise those who are
applying for auto insurance policy
to ensure that they indicate all safety features installed in their
cars because this is definitely a discount that you should pursue.
Although the Daihatsu Copen is exclusively sold for the Japanese Kei-car market, UK-based Daihatsu Vehicle Distributors Limited convinced the Japanese automaker to revamp some of the vehicle's components including the small engine with only 660 cc displacement to adapt in the European vehicle standards.

In addition, to comply with the European Whole Vehicle Type Approval, Daihatsu equipped the Copen with a larger 1.3 litre petrol engine that now pumps out an additional 19 hp and a 14.5 lb.-ft. increase of peak torque, for a total of 86 hp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 88.5 lb ft at 4,400 rpm. Daihatsu said the Copen offers an improved fuel efficiency and low fuel consumption rate, thanks to the advance engine systems like Dynamic Variable Valve Timing (DVVT) which enhances low-speed pulling power, the compact twin overhead camshaft unit equipped with alloy head and block. Moreover, the Daihatsu Copen also comes with the first ever self regenerating catalytic converter made palladium, the most heat sensitive material used in catalytic converters. As a result, the catalytic converter has the ability to regenerate and prolong its function in reducing CO2 exhaust emission coming out from the Daihatsu Copen.

With the new engine, the Daihatsu Copen can now sprint from 0 to 62 mph time in just 9.5 seconds, about 2 seconds faster than the previous 660 cc engine. The Copen roadster can reach an electronically limited full throttle speed of 112 mph.

According to Paul Tunnicliffe, Daihatsu Managing Director, "We are all car enthusiasts here at Daihatsu and were instrumental in bringing the original model to market in the UK. With this lively new engine and a highly competitive price, we are delighted not only to have a 'halo' model in our range but to be able to offer fellow enthusiasts such a characterful and affordable fun car.

The revised Daihatsu Copen for the UK market received several facelift from the Japanese automaker. The small car retains its sporty and compact body styling with a rounded design. Compared to VW Fox parts like the trapezoidal headlamps, The Daihatsu Copen gets oval shaped headlamps as well as oval shaped rear lamps. The small rear boot spoiler is one of the new features of the vehicle. Of course, the Daihatsu Copen still features the electronically operated folding hard top roof made of lightweight aluminum.

Inside, the new Daihatsu Copen is equipped with standard safety components including front seats with pretensioners and force limiters, twin front airbags, dual side-impact door beams, Auto-locking restraints (ALR), and reinforced front side-members and front sub-frame. In addition, passive safety systems are also standard like twin roll-over bars, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), and Daihatsu's impact-sensing system.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06244880228466149678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494280497064210129.post-58216450401767352012-07-11T02:05:00.003-07:002012-07-13T00:14:04.117-07:00Honda - All Car History Volume 13
Honda is the world's largest engine maker, producing more than 14 million internal combustion engines every year. Honda's began building motorbikes but the S500 2-door roadster featuring a 492cc engine saw the company move into car production in an innovative way in the 1960s. The highly acclaimed Civic and Accord saw Honda make rapid international progress. Today, the company makes everything from cars and motorbikes, robots, jets and jet engines, to lawn and garden equipment. Honda's current crop of cars includes the Accord, CR-V, Civic, FR-V, Jazz, Legend and S2000. HONDA HISTORY In 1948 Honda's founder, Soichiro Honda, started a new company: Honda Motor Co. They soon came up with the "batabata", a motorised bicycle named after the sound the engine made which became a huge hit across Japan. Later, Honda's most popular model, the Dream, could be spotted all over the Japanese islands. Honda introduced its first car in 1957, the N360. In 1958, the American Honda Company was created. In 1972 Honda entered the American market with the small fuel efficient Civic - just as the energy crisis was hitting economies. In 1986 Honda introduced a luxury line of cars and in 2007 Honda announced plans to launch low-priced hybrids.
While some will see traces of the Fiat 500's design here and there and even more so at the rear - as evidenced by our readers' comments in our previous story on the car, GM's European brand is quick to point out in its press blurb that "unlike other rivals", the Adam has a modern feel to it:
"But unlike other rivals in the segment, ADAM bucks the trend for retro-based design with a fresh and bold look that will appeal to open-minded individuals who want to defy convention with a car that’s distinctive and striking," says Opel.
The German carmaker and its British counterpart say that the Adam will be the first model in the A-segment to have the option of LED daytime running lights. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06244880228466149678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494280497064210129.post-83671050942750002872012-07-10T16:32:00.001-07:002012-07-11T01:48:19.208-07:00Renault Video Reveals New Clio Sports Tourer
The battle of press releases and statements that erupted between the Chrysler Group and Swedish car magazine Teknikens Värld after the latter published a video showing the Jeep Grand Cherokee almost tipping over in the infamous "moose test" continues to rage on.
In its first response, the Detroit carmaker said its engineers tried to "reproduce the wheel-lift in a properly loaded vehicle" without success.
Chrysler pointed out that neither Teknikens Värld was able to recreate the original event in a subsequent evaluation of three vehicles performing 11 runs, which were conducted by the magazine on July 8 in Sweden and witnessed by the automaker's engineers.
Today, Teknikens Värld notified us about its latest posting that rebukes Chrysler's claims saying that the aforementioned moose test with the Jeep Grand Cherokee was conducted according to strict parameters that were followed "to the smallest detail". Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06244880228466149678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494280497064210129.post-64005163195366976062012-07-10T13:28:00.000-07:002012-07-11T01:46:17.335-07:00Mitsubishi to Pull the Plug on the Lancer EVO X in the UK<img style="display:block;
