New Opel Adam Officially Unveiled, Ready to Take on the Fiat 500 and Mini [30 Photos]

We don't know if Fiat should be flattered or annoyed by Opel's (and Vauxhall's) attempt to recreate the 500's success in more ways than one with its new "urban-chic small car" named Adam, which coincidentally or not, is the name of the company’s founder, Adam Opel.
While some will see traces of the Fiat 500's design here and there and even more so at the rear - as evidenced by our readers' comments in our previous story on the car, GM's European brand is quick to point out in its press blurb that "unlike other rivals", the Adam has a modern feel to it:
"But unlike other rivals in the segment, ADAM bucks the trend for retro-based design with a fresh and bold look that will appeal to open-minded individuals who want to defy convention with a car that’s distinctive and striking," says Opel.
Among other styling highlights underlined by Opel is the so-called "floating roof", which is visually disconnected from the body and can be ordered in two different shades that contrast the rest of the car.
The German carmaker and its British counterpart say that the Adam will be the first model in the A-segment to have the option of LED daytime running lights.

Renault Video Reveals New Clio Sports Tourer

There's no way of knowing if Renault did it on purpose or by mistake, but in a freshly released video about the Clio Mk4 that shows how the five-door hatchback went from a design on a computer to a production model, we get to see the station wagon version of the new supermini.
The yet to be revealed station wagon version of the Clio Mk4, which depending on the market, will carry the Estate, Grand Tour or Sport Tourer moniker, was filmed on a test bed without any camouflage whatsoever.

A Speculative Take on the Next Generation 2013 Toyota RAV4

With seven years on its back, the current, third generation of the model series that kicked off the SUV craze back in the mid-1990s is well overdue for replacement.

But if the word on the street is to be believed, then we could see a new RAV4 making its debut as early as this fall before it hits showrooms either towards the end of the year or in early 2013, depending on the market.

New Renault’s Clio generation coming to Paris Auto Show

Renault logo

With the Frankfurt Motor Show not even over, Renault’s officials are preparing for the next year’s Paris event, declaring that the fourth generation of the popular Clio model will be officially presented in France.

Renault’s product manager, Beatrice Foucher, proclaimed at the Frankfurt Motor Show that the new Clio generation will also get “an athlete”, in the form of a Renault sport version, while it will still be saving the planet by using a downsized turbocharged engine.

“Look to the new Twingo for even more clues, such as the more technical headlights, large diamond logo and black gloss grille”, said Beatrice Foucher. “It will be a real wide car and much lower too.

There is always a bigger volume for the five-door car. It is expensive to invest in a three-door and you make less money on it, so it’s not as profitable”, added the Renault official.

Renault-DeZir-Concept

The French automaker says that the new Clio generation is inspired by the DeZir Concept and Renault’s designers, in their turn, say that the DeZir Concept was inspired by Aston Martin V8 Vantage, so now we are truly peculiar what the new Clio will look like.

This is all we now for now about the new model which will enter Renault’s line-up starting from next year and unluckily, with the Frankfurt Motor Show keeping them busy, the French didn’t release any images or even sketches of the future Clio.
